Continental School District #39 On-Site Learning Opportunities and Support Services

As per Executive Order 2020-51 (as already required by EO 2020-41 and as prescribed by EO 2020-44) free onsite learning opportunities and support services for students who need a place to go during the day must be provided beginning on Monday, August 17, 2020. If in-person learning is not allowed to resume on August 17, 2020, Continental School District #39 will provide a designated space for students to participate in onsite distance learning supervision.

Please be advised that free on-site learning opportunities and support services are not teacher-led classroom instruction and extracurricular activities will not be provided. However, free on-site learning opportunities include in-person support services such as student supervision and strategic support for students in need during standard school hours 8:00- 3:00 PM.

Please be advised that free on-site learning opportunities and support services may be suspended or terminated if the District or the Arizona Department of Health Services advises closing the premises for public health reasons or in the best interests of the staff and students.

Please consider carefully the need for these services, so that we can maximize the purpose of the program, and operate it in the most effective and safe manner possible.

Students granted access will be assigned a designated area within the District, such as the gymnasium or cafeteria, and will remain assigned to the same designated area for the duration of the time that they participate in onsite distance learning supervision. Parents are responsible to transport their child(ren) to and from the designated area for onsite distance learning supervision.

Students will be spaced for social distancing, face coverings will be required, adherence to school dress will be required, and expectations for student conduct during the school day will be expected. Hygiene protocols and social distancing will be strictly adhered to at all times. Lunches will be available for purchase onsite. It is highly encouraged that students who utilize this service bring additional items to work on in the event that they finish classwork before the end of the day.

If you believe your child needs a place to go during the day, please complete the  On-site Learning Opportunities & Support Services Form below. The deadline to submit this form is Thursday, August 13, 2020, at 3:00 PM.

Families who qualify for this service will receive an email and/or phone call on Friday, August 14th with specific information including location and times for Onsite Distance Learning Supervision.
